The Splinters of Dusk keep two interaction lists:
- The Non-Interaction List
- OOC alliances
Both of these are out-of-character by necessity.
The Non-Interaction List
We're not out to grief people. Some people in the city wish to have nothing to do with non-resters without having to don a BattleCloak, and the Splinters of Dusk have no desire to force these people to take that last resort.
To be eligible for the list, you have to be a rester and your history must show that you've avoided non-rester interaction wherever possible. Don't worry, we're not super-stingy about the interpretation of past events, that part isn't meant to be something to be used to turn you down at a whim - but it does have to be true. Please work with us in this.
We will not hit anyone on this list. If you're reading this as a contractor, please be aware of that. If you want to strike these people, you're better off looking for a rester mercenary clan to do the job.
Note that the list goes both ways, of course. If you're opting out of being hit, you also opt out of being able to contract the Splinters of Dusk. Effectively, it's best seen like this: You cease to exist for us in-character.
Also note that we do not accept mid-contract "Put me on that list!" cries. If you do apply for the list while a contract is out on you, we'll put you on the list for future cases, but that one contract itself is completed.
For our friends: Please don't judge the people on this list. Their reasons for being on it are their own. It's not always cowardice - for some people, it's the principle that matters. Please don't ask us why the people on this list are on it - we won't disclose that information. It's a private matter between gekkonid clan leadership and the people in question.
OOC alliances
A treasured list of friends.
Note that people on this list get no tangible benefits, like discounts or being excempt from contracts. Their characters (that being IC) are still free game - the same is true vice versa. We get no IC help from these guys. OOC alliances are 'only' the warm fuzzy feeling players have for each other when they roleplay, formalised.
The first ever formal OOC alliance in this incarnation of the gekkonids, the anti-gekkonid clan Gehyra, have a nice writ on the subject of OOC alliances that probably explains the concept best.
To nutshell: People and clans on this list openly acknowledge the Splinters of Dusk way of playing the game as legit and the people behind the Splinters of Dusk characters as respectable human beings - and the courtesy is returned. In effect, it means we probably RP a lot with each other - or at least that the potential is there.
