Teh Monies
Title is such because we're not always deathly serious.
  1. How much do you charge for contracts - and why?

The money we ask for lies somewhere between discount and normal shop weapon prices as needed to reimburse our inventories.

The Splinters of Dusk don't aim to make a profit. The clan is in this business for philosophic reasons. The action points and the time we expend comes at no cost to the contractor.

How far the price slides up from 'discount' and up to 'normal' depends largely on the size of the contract. The fewer weapons we have to throw, the closer the price will be to discount. The more it takes, the further it goes toward normal (though it never exceeds normal pricing). Please note there may be other factors, too, calculated in at clan leader discretion.

The reason we don't ask for discount outright is that we may not always be able to catch a discount shop when restocking. Naturally we aim to and consider it a personal failure if we don't, but especially drawn out contracts with retaliation sometimes require quick action, even when a discount shop is not necessarily at hand.

  2. How is payment collected?

Generally, you're expected to pay 50% upfront and 50% after completion of the contract.

You're welcome to pay the entirety of it upfront if you really want to, but the splitting is meant as insurance for both you and the Splinters of Dusk. The only time we'll insist on you paying the lot of the money upfront is when you take a contract out on yourself. If that seems a strange distinction for you, read on. (Paying for the victim's Necromancer costs and publishing the name are worthless threats on self-contractors.)

  3. What are the consequences of refused payment on my end?

If you don't pay the first 50%, then nothing happens. No contract happens, no consequences hound you, it's much the same as if you never requested anything in the first place.

If you don't pay the second half of the money after contract completion, though, we break off our end of the deal retrospectively. That means several things. For one, if you were using the Splinters of Dusk for the sake of anonymity, you lose it - we publish your name. For two, you're forever blocked from being a contractor in future - and unlike our non-interaction list, this means we're certainly still allowed to attack you. For three, we pay your victim's Necromancer costs, effectively nilling your efforts.

  4. What happens to my money if you abort a contract for any reason, or you break a promise you made to me?

Then we apologise profusely and refund you any money that you paid to us up until that point (which, as per #3, will probably be 50% of the contract price) - unless, of course, you request otherwise.
